週期蟬它的外觀就跟一般蟬一樣。但他的生命週期有十七年。孵化後會待在地底下17年然後在夏天從地底下爬出來，在地面上生命週期大約只有3-4週。

The visual of a 17-year cicada is the same as a normal one, but its life cycle is 17 years. After hatching they will stay underground for 17 years and come out in the summer, but they can only live for 3 to 4 weeks on the ground.
17-year cicadas are fragile, they can’t hurt the other species. The only way to protect themselves is to stay with other companions, when they face predators. In the underground period you won’t notice them. One day they will show up at the same time in different places. There will be over a million cicadas at peak time, so you can’t ignore them.
這次的系列有結合登山的元素，因為週期蟬生長的環境在森林，所以加入大量的口袋、金屬、綁帶、肩帶、配飾去結合我的設計；可以看到很多服裝是直接與包做結合，並不是配飾。
版型發展也是以他們不同時期的外型去設計，以週期蟬本身的生命週期為發想。幼蟲時期身體曲線是圓弧的再來逐漸成熟的直線、A-Line，直至回歸地底下等待下一個17年。
材料選擇棉搭配真絲布做衍縫的效果；這部分主要想表達蟬在幼蟲時期脆弱，但精神依然強大，棉跟真絲在經過衍縫後會變得比較堅硬，但同時依然保有柔軟的包覆感。這個系列也採用皮雕切割，想表現從繭孵化後外殼變堅硬的時期。
第五套裡面設計一套Macramé Dress是以樹根為啟發，待在地底的17年週期蟬必須倚靠樹根的樹液去生存，在所以在第五套衍縫的設計也特別強調樹根的部分。
I combine hiking elements, because a 17-year cicada is growing in the forest. Add lots of metal, straps and accessories in this collection. The development of the pattern is also designed based on their appearance in different periods. The body curves of the larvae are arcs before they grow up, the body shape will close to straight or A-line when they become more mature.
Cotton and silk are selected as the material for the quilting effect; this part mainly wants to express that cicadas are fragile in the larval stage, but their spirit is still strong. Cotton and Silk will become harder after quilting, but at the same time they still maintain a soft sense.
There are some details that I want to explain more. I designed a macramé dress in the fifth look that I was inspired by tree roots. The 17-year cicadas stay underground have to rely on the sap of tree roots to survive, that’s why the quilting of fifth look also emphasizes the part of the roots.
