Concept / Inspiration
This collection takes knitted yarn loops as a medium to deeply explore the Daoist philosophy of the interdependence between “being” and “non-being.” The yarn, like a flowing stream, never stands still but moves continuously in soft patterns, weaving together the subtle and elusive essence found in Chinese ink painting. Through the poetic qualities of yarn, the designer delves into the profound connection between nature and humanity, showcasing the harmonious balance that Daoist philosophy envisions between the two, giving the textile a layered and textured beauty like a landscape painting. In addition, all yarns are sourced from deadstock or re-processed defective yarns, with pieces developed through computerized flat knitting fully-fashioned techniques to achieve near-zero waste.
